Concrete Sealer
Concrete is naturally porous so when concrete cures, surplus water creates a network of interconnected capillaries. These pores then let in liquid water, water vapor, and radon gas. Like a sponge, concrete even draws in water by wicking action from several feet away and as it ages the pores get bigger and bigger damaging and cracking your concrete.
Concrete sealers are a way to protect and properly maintain your concrete. Most sealers are predominantly acrylic, silicone, silane, siloxane, resin, or wax based, and form a topical layer upon the surface of the concrete application. There are also concrete sealers that penetrate the concrete and forcefully expand into capillaries and harden as insoluble silicate minerals. This internally bonds and seals the concrete.

It goes on milky white but dries to a clear satin to semi-gloss finish, depending on surface porosity and the amount of product applied.
